After graduating from The Citadel, I severed in the Air Force for 4 years. I was then able to use the GI Bill to earn a Pharmacy Degree at the Medical University of South Carolina. I still practice as a hospital pharmacist two to three days a week, but my true passion lies in photography, which I have practiced for over 20 years.
Just over a decade ago, I opened Matt Fisher Photography and began photographing professionally. I maintained a gallery (Gallery Mateo) in the Blue Star Art Complex in San Antonio for two years before building my studio. My experience has included portraiture in all settings, including candid shots in various places and street portraits. For the past five years, I have been shooting boudoir and intimate photographs, fashion and nude photography with models including 2 Playboy and one Penthouse model(s), as well as continuing with my photographic art.
I am a proud member of the San Antonio Professional Photographers Association and the San Antonio Small Gallery Fashion and Glamour Photography Group. My work has been juried in shows around the city such as Gallery Centro Cultural Aztlan and the Gallery at Univ. of Texas, San Antonio and has also been featured in local restaurants like Cappy’s and The Foundry. My photographs have also been displayed in two shows at The Café at Central Market. I have also had my Retro 1930's Rockettes photographs published in Stash fashion magazine and had two 12 photo sets published on a website called Zivity and on a website called Fine Art Review.
I have a Model Mayhem profile #2374940 and my website is: mattfisherphotography.com.
I photograph under the pseudonym : Mateo of (and is) Matt Fisher Photography.
I also have small galleries of my work that some hospitals around San Antonio have purchased : Kindred Hospital has their lobby and a hallway down to the cafeteria lined with my work as well as a prayer room and portraits of the Medical Staff.
My primary interest is in developing themes around which I can create photographic art. I currently live in San Antonio with my wife, Arlene, and have three grown children with families of their own. I also have six cats that
I dearly love.
Please be sure to check out the galleries here on my site to see examples of my work. For more information about my photography services or to request a consult, please contact me.
